THE TRANSCENDENT(synopsis) "Between reality and illusion, there lies a thin line" When he lost it all, Nafsi bin-ami set out to the unknown with just but hope. Eight months of bare subsistence life in Kibera (world's largest slum) eroded that hope. Facing a sure death by suicide, the memory of a woman he had only seen once snatched him from the jaws of death. Nafsi whips up a startling manipulation plan. Could he really coerce an electorate of over 10 million into electing him president within 12 months? First, he sat down and wrote them a book, telling them exactly how he would do it. Is this really a work of fiction? Only after turning over the last page do you realize how fooled the people were, how fooled you are right now as you read right through this book. This is even better than hypnosis; so he had a plan, so he made it into a book, but did the people have to do exactly what he had written they would? Didn't anybody think that they were being manipulated? The Transcendent is an elaborately choreographed scheme, speckled with thought provoking and opinionated assertions on just about everything; world poverty, global warming, the very meaning of life meant to systematically seize and control. Nothing is really what you think it is here – better be warned. Every letter of every word, every sentence of every paragraph, every page, boils down to you; you are experiencing an elaborate, purposeful inducement meant to make you think in a precise way, to question certain fundamentals, to ignore specific facts and to look deep inside for well defined answers. The ploy to lure you in started the moment you read the title, the moment that little voice (Nafsi bin ami –Swahili for my conscience) started his whispering. Just how far can people be influenced? How much control can someone yield over others, even over you? You think it was improbable that Nafsi could influence so many people? It's numbing to discover just how deep you can really get yourself.
